Deafhood Yoga incorporates the following into its practices:

 

Being visual in the teaching of yoga through direct American Sign Language (ASL)

Being ASL-centered

Dedicating careful attention to peripheral visual space

Witnessing one’s natural process from alertness to relaxation, especially through the “Buddha Way” (having the eyes closed halfway)

Incorporate the teachings of Hatha Yoga from the Sivananda lineage of India

Sharing the practice of ahmisa (non-harming and non-violent)
