Deafhood Yoga is a philosophy, science, art and way of healing that is achieved through one’s personal practice. It is taught through practice with love.
Just be.
Deafhood Yoga incorporates the following into its practices:
• Being visual in the teaching of yoga through direct American Sign Language (ASL)
• Being ASL-centered
• Dedicating careful attention to peripheral visual space
• Witnessing one’s natural process from alertness to relaxation, especially through the “Buddha Way” (having the eyes closed halfway)
• Incorporate the teachings of Hatha Yoga from the Sivananda lineage of India
• Sharing the practice of ahmisa (non-harming and non-violent)
